IPS e.max® System

Dental Crown Technology

Boise, Idaho

IPS e.max® is a lithium silicate glass-ceramic uniquely designed for the manufacturing of one-piece, full contour metal-free restorations.

IPS e.max® is the most exciting crown material to date! IPS e.max® is a full contoured, pressed lithium disilicate restoration that features a variety of design options, high strength and “Empress-like” aesthetics. Designed with simplicity and versatility in mind, IPS e.max is the ultimate in metal-free aesthetics and strength. The decision to use IPS e.max® is made in order to take advantage of the unlimited possibilities of all-ceramics. IPS e.max® uses the strongest pressable glass ceramic ingot available with a flexural strength of 400 MPa. So it’s strong enough for the posterior. If it’s aesthetics you’re looking for, different ingot opacities and cutback techniques make it possible to rival the aesthetics of Empress. IPS e.max® can be designed for single crowns or 3 unit bridges. Lithium disilicate material can be pressed as thin as .3mm and is an excellent option for those minor aesthetic updates. Please remember to take a stump shade if necessary. E.max is very translucent which makes it difficult to cover dark stump shades.

It is manufactured with an innovative process, resulting in the exceptional homogeneity of the material.
